National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES – Japan)

The National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES), established in 1974, is Japan’s leading institute for comprehensive research in environmental science and technology. Experts in diverse fields ranging from pure sciences, engineering, agriculture sciences, medical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, and fishery sciences, to law and economics, cooperate to pioneer new methodologies and foster pioneering research that will facilitate improvements in environmental circumstances.

 

Udayana University (UNUD – Indonesia)

Udayana University is a public university in Denpasar, Indonesia. It was established on September 29, 1962. The university’s name was derived from 10th century Balinese King Udayana (Dharmodayana) of Warmadewa Dynasty. Udayana University was established by the Act of Minister of Higher Education Republic of Indonesia No.104/1962, on 9 August 1962. It was the first university to be established in Bali Province. With four courses in 1962, Udayana University has developed a wide range of courses.

 

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB – Indonesia)

Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB or Bogor Agricultural University) is a state-run agricultural university based in the city of Bogor, Indonesia. The institute began as an agricultural school formed by the Dutch colonial regime in the early 20th century. After independence it was part of the Universitas Indonesia before becoming an independent institute on September 1, 1963.Institut Pertanian Bogor has agricultural, livestock, veterinary, and life science studies.IPB consist of nine faculties providing an undergraduate program.Graduate and postgraduate programs are managed by a separate graduate school. In 1972, IPB implemented a four-year undergraduate curriculum and, in 1975, opened the first graduate school in Indonesia. IPB undergraduate new students are required to pass a Common First Year Program before entering any faculties or department although they are enrolled as a student of specific faculties and department. They are also required to live in dormitories during the first year. Institut Pertanian Bogor has a diploma program that is separated from the faculties and managed under the Directorate of Diploma Program. Unlike the undergraduate students, a common first year program is unavailable for diploma program students.
